Amazing Brother

Published August 21, 2016 by etain1

I have an absolute amazing brother! Bob went to a dealership to get some work done on his truck and during the two hour wait him and the receptionist (a 21 year old) started talking. He had his Kindle and she ask what it was and he explained that he downloaded books to read and also played games on it. She mentioned that her little boy would love that.

As they conversed he found out that she only made $11.00 an hour but only got 6 hours 3 or 4 times a week. She was a single parent and was struggling to make ends meet. She did not say this in a negative way – she told my brother she was very lucky to have such a good job and hoped that soon she would be able to pick up more hours.

When my brother’s truck was done he drove to Best buy and bought a Kindle and a 2 year warranty on it. He drove back to the dealership and gave her the Kindle. She cried, was shocked that he did this. She said she would pay him back and he said it was a gift.

Now that is what I call PAY IT FORWARD. My brother has always had a kind heart and this story proves it.

I am so lucky / proud to have such a loving brother.

Through this process of grieving I have learned some valued lessons through my artwork and using quotes. It’s all about perspective and learning to let go and grow from the experience.

My Roots Are Strong

On January 23rd I took a blow that hit the very core of my being. It took the wind out of my sails and left me broken, mad as hell and confused. So, instead of giving up I decided to put together an altered journal that has helped me go through the process of grieving. It has not been easy and I am sure there are going to be times that I have flash backs of the way it used to be but it can never go back as it was. I need to build from this point in time and move forward.
