Quiescent
By Terry Moore

A cold and brisk winter morning,
As I watch the branches on the trees sway.
My time of reflection,
What is in store for me today?
The morning sky has hues of blue, pink, and grey,
It is breathtaking I must say.
Mother Nature’s way of calling,
With a hint of snowflakes falling.
Earth’s quiescent is a fact,
Telling us to let go, release. and relax.

I am learning to see the beauty even in the winter months of cold, nasty weather. Mother Nature shows us that there are seasons; spring, summer, fall and winter. We also have these same seasons to contend with. Winter is all about letting go and giving ourselves permission to slow down, relax, and heal. We push, push and push. Winter time has a way of making us slow down. We need this so don’t fight the urge to snuggle up in a warm blanket and read a good book or if you must watch some TV.
