The Craft

What the Craft means to me …….

The CRAFT is not about flamboyant dress, but for some it is. It is not about being rebellious, but for some it is. It is not about using the spells, charms, talismans, and a ‘Book of Shadows’, but for some it is. The Craft is about the journey to self discovery and enlightenment. It is about learning to be your authentic self. It is about spirituality and living your life in perfect love and perfect trust.

We each have our own path to follow. We each have lessons to learn. As long as we are true to ourselves and harm none in the process we are doing good.

Dear Ancestor

Tis the season when the veil is thin – be sure to give thanks to the ones that have gone on before you.

Dear Ancestor

 Your tombstone stands among the rest;

Neglected and alone

The name and date are chiseled out,

On polished, marbled stone

It reaches out to all who care,

It is too late to mourn

You did not know that I’d exist,

You died and I was born

Yet each of us are cells of you,

In flesh, in blood, in bone

Our blood contracts and beats a pulse,

Entirely not our own

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled,

One hundred years ago

Spreads out among the ones you left,

Who would have loved you so

I wonder if you lived and loved,

I wonder if you knew

That someday I would find this spot,

And come to visit you

I have always loved books for as long as I can remember. When I was seven years old Jenny my mothers boss gave me Shirley Temple’s Storybook. How I loved that book and still have it today. When I was in my teens I worked in the library at school and the librarian  told me one day that books would get me where I wanted to go. I didn’t understand what she was sharing with me then but in my 20s I finally understood and enrolled in college.

Today I am a CRONE and I still love books. They still get me where I want to go. I now understand that books are for learning and for pleasure. There is nothing better than a good book.

My Philosophy!

I am not afraid to be silly, fun and crazy. I have been this way all my life and you either love me or hate me – does not matter because I won’t change. Yes I can be focused, down to earth, and serious when need to be. However, I also have to mix in some humor, some crazy and some “thinking outside the box” stuff. Life is short, so live to be HAPPY.

Ego vs Spirituality

I love these quotes by Marianne Williamson. We spend way too much time worrying about what people think of us, what people hold over us – holding us at arm’s length and being hard on ourselves as well.  Concentrate on being in the moment and being the best you can be in that moment without harming none. Now that’s a real plan for living and enjoying our lives.

What If, What If

Working in surgery has given me a first hand view just how hard it is for some to go through the aging process and they will spend lots and lots of money to hold onto their youth. What comes to mind is Joan Rivers and how ‘plastic’ she looked. I don’t feel the need to fight the aging process. I just want to be the best I can be at all times. If a person needs to have surgical nip and tucks – then they have to do what is right for them.
